Santa Cruz received over 125,000 euros throughout 2024, corresponding to the annual fees paid by private enterprises to the municipal City Council for each parking space. This amount arises from the agreements for the management of six public car parks within the municipality, as detailed by the public services department to the Vox Group during the meeting held on January 31.
The municipality reported that it obtained 7,960 euros from Interparking Hispania for the operation of the parking facility at Plaza de España, in addition to another 23,906 euros from the same operator for the Tomé Cano parking. Meanwhile, Inversiones Parque contributed 16.38 euros for market parking, while El Corte Inglés accounted for a total of 16,031 euros for the management of the Tres de Mayo car park. Additionally, the Collective Society paid 5,095 euros for the Puerto Escondido facility, whereas the fee from Parking Tenerife amounted to 56,124 euros for the Weyler Square car park.
The council granted numerous concessions during the 1990s, with management terms ranging from 30 to 50 years. Some of these, like the Plaza de España, are set to expire in 2025 but have been agreed to be extended until 2026.
