Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 6th February. (Europa Press) –
The Plenary of the Tenerife Fire Consortium has, on Wednesday, sanctioned the establishment of its own prevention service, in line with the requirements set forth by Law 31/95 on Occupational Risk Prevention and the Regulation of Prevention Services (RD 39/1997). This legislation mandates the formation of this organisational unit for firms employing between 250 and 500 staff members engaged in activities that pose significant risks to the safety and wellbeing of their employees.
The Consortium’s president, Iván Martín, affirmed in a statement that this service will feature two specialised areas of prevention – work segregation and ergonomics, as well as applied psychosociology – delivered by personnel possessing the necessary qualifications.
“The revitalisation of this service is crucial to support our growth objectives and ensure that each of our firefighters can meet the everyday demands of their role in a healthy and secure working environment,” he remarked.
The new prevention service will include a senior technician in occupational risk prevention and an administrator with specific preventive training to assist with administrative support and document management tasks.
It will also encompass the human and material resources required for the execution of preventive activities that ensure the safety and health protection of the workforce.
Approval of Teleworking
During the same session, the endorsement of the Teleworking Modality was agreed upon in accordance with the provisions of the Teleworking Regulations from the Tenerife Insular Cabildo (BOP of Santa Cruz de Tenerife No. 23, dated 23rd February 2022).
The Teleworking scheme will be optional and will necessitate a prior application from the employee, which must receive approval from the relevant department. In this context, it will be combined with in-person work and will not apply to senior management or those whose duties require physical presence.
