Santa Cruz de Tenerife 6 Feb. (Europa Press) – The General Directorate of Relations with the Administration of Justice in the Canary Islands has stated this Friday that the scanners currently not functioning in “certain courts” of the Canary Islands “are operational but require an update,” an initiative that is set to commence this Friday, as confirmed by the supplying company of the machines to the Department of the Regional Executive.
In a press release, the department explained that the issue pertains specifically to the multifunction scanners in “some Canarian courts” with that particular brand, indicating that it is “an isolated problem and not widespread.” Consequently, they assert, the scanners “require” this update so they can “become operational again in a network and allow scanned documentation to be transferred to a shared folder.”
Furthermore, as a temporary measure, the General Directorate states, “it is possible to scan and transfer the documentation onto a pen drive, using both these multifunction scanners and those of the table that have been provided”; however, they acknowledge that this workaround “delays the process in cases involving a large volume of documentation.”
In this regard, they also mention that the supplying company of the machines has confirmed to the General Directorate of Relations with the Administration of Justice that updates will commence this Friday.
“Table scanners are intended to assist with scanning low-volume documentation, particularly in the case of records. They have not been installed to replace the functionality of multifunction scanners,” stated the regional department, which assures that they have reached out to all the senior judges of the affected courts.
