Tenerife has surpassed its previous record at Madrid Fusion, welcoming over 5,000 engaged visitors to its various activities. The island transformed into a gastronomic hub during the Madrid Fusion 25 event, where it served as the main sponsor. In its expansive area showcasing three distinct zones and measuring a total of 340 square metres, the largest to date, tastings were conducted as part of the Wine Edition, featuring 42 wines from the island’s six DOs over the three-day Congress, with more than 3,000 tastings provided. The venue attracted over 1,300 professionals from the sector and approximately five thousand attendees throughout the gathering.
The Tenerife restaurant space evoked strong emotions with fully booked activities, which included daily breakfasts with barraquitos and artisanal pastries, themed lunches showcasing local cuisine, workshops, and an impressive selection of wines. Presented in a stunning audiovisual immersive format, this venue highlighted each activity with local delicacies such as honey, gofio, exotic fruits, native meats, cheeses, and exceptional potatoes. Additionally, the Tenerife wine tunnel, covering 75 square metres, featured selections from the island’s six DOs, setting another record at Madrid Fusion 25 with bespoke tastings for esteemed sommeliers and international distributors.
Tenerife also enjoyed remarkable moments with presentations by Diego Schattenhofer (1973 Taste) and Jesús Camacho (Donaire). Furthermore, the jury awarded José Alberto Díaz’s Mojo from Tenerife, produced at El Site in La Palma. The accolade for the best dish incorporating Mojo de Tenerife, paired with Tenerife wines, went to Javier Rayón from the Botany Restaurant in Malaga.
