A 24-year-old paraglider has sustained injuries on Saturday following an incident in the Count Roque area, located within the municipality of Adeje on the Island of Tenerife, according to reports from the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:11 p.m., when the 1-1-2 control room received a notification indicating that an individual needed medical assistance after experiencing a fall in the specified area. Consequently, CECOES promptly mobilised the required emergency services to intervene.
Subsequently, rescuers from the helicopter unit of the Emergency and Rescue Group of the Government of the Canary Islands (GES) reached the victim, provided initial care, and after stabilising the individual, facilitated their evacuation to the Helisuperficie of Volunteer Firefighters in Adeje.
Once on solid ground, the personnel from SUC attended to the paraglider, who presented with a moderate hip injury at the outset of assistance, and was subsequently transferred to Hospiten Sur University Hospital.
