The Secretary General of the Canarian Coalition in Tenerife, Francisco Linares, stated on Saturday that the decision for Vox to join the local government of Arona, where they govern alongside the PP, was made by the mayor, Fatima Lemes (PP), and that CC has merely been “passive observers.”
While addressing reporters before attending the political conference of CC in Tenerife, Linares affirmed that his party “has not initiated any new actions and remains where it has always been,” regarding a decision he perceives as stemming from a loss of trust and a need for stability.
“I comprehend that when trust is eroded, it is essential to seek new alliances. We have not shifted our position; we are where we have always been and will persist in our current areas. We respect the decision made by the mayor,” remarked the mayor of La Orotava.
