This year, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council is providing a total of 193 public employment positions through a competitive process, addressing the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. Currently, the registration deadline for 65 positions across various categories remains open, as announced yesterday by the Councillor for Human Resources, Purificación Dávila.
The mayor stated yesterday that the anticipated roles included in the Public Employment Offer (OEP) with an open process involve economists (1 position); Telecommunications Engineers (2), Industrial Engineers (2), and Computer Engineers (3); Occupational Health Doctor (1); psychologist (1); Administrative Technician (14); Occupational Risk Prevention Specialist (1) and Senior Civil Protection (1).
In addition, there will be 3 positions available for library assistants, social graduates (3), Agricultural Engineers (1), and Civil Engineering roles (3); Tax Sub-inspector (3), Management Technician (1), Administrative (4), Surveyor (1), Music Professor (6), and Auxiliary Public Services Technician (4). The remainder, to reach the total of 65 open positions, consists of opportunities for internal promotion.
Dávila, who made this announcement during the budget presentation for her department for 2025, clarified that, out of the 193 municipal public employment positions, the recruitment process has already concluded for 128, making those positions unavailable. This includes 26 positions for local police, through an open call, alongside three deputy commissioners and 14 inspectors through internal promotion. Nevertheless, she announced that an additional 9 positions for municipal agents will soon be offered, relating to the call for 2024, while those for 2025 are yet to be confirmed, pending the finalisation of the General State Budgets.
She added that “the forthcoming public employment call from the capital’s City Council, particularly concerning the Local Police, will, for the first time, align with the unified call from the autonomous community, as we from Santa Cruz have recently established an agreement for recruitment through the regional selection process, which will streamline the timings for filling positions.”
Furthermore, the Councillor for Human Resources indicated that this year, her department’s total budget is approximately €87 million exclusively in Chapter I (City Council personnel).
