Weather Forecast for the Canary Islands This Thursday

The State Meteorology Agency (Aemet) forecasts for Thursday slightly cloudy skies or clear conditions, with the possibility of light rain in the northern mountainous islands during the morning. Maximum temperatures are expected to decline slightly or remain moderate, accompanied by a Northeast wind ranging from moderate to strong.

The wind will be more forceful in the mountain ranges and on the northwest and southeast slopes, where there may be very strong gusts.

Regarding the sea conditions, a Northeast wind of force 5 to 6 is predicted, locally reaching 7, along with strong swells and turbulent waters, while strength will be variable at 2 to 3 along the southwest coasts with a slight swell. A swell from the north or northwest is anticipated, with waves measuring up to 3 metres, subsiding to 2 metres.

The forecast for the islands is as follows:

Lanzarote

Overcast conditions are expected during the early morning, gradually changing to cloud intervals later. Temperatures will show little variation. A moderate Northeast wind will strengthen throughout the morning, with the possibility of very strong gusts in the interior regions.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast (°C): Arrecife 16 21

Fuerteventura

Overcast conditions will occur during the early morning, transitioning to cloud intervals in the northern half, while the rest of the island will be partly cloudy. Minimum temperatures are expected to rise slightly, whereas maximums may decrease slightly. The Northeast wind will be moderate, increasing to strong from the morning, particularly in the Jandía Peninsula and southern parts, where very strong gusts may occur.

Gran Canaria

In the north, conditions will be overcast, mainly characterised by cloud intervals during the central hours, with possible light rain in the morning. The rest of the island will be partly cloudy or clear. Minimum temperatures are expected to remain stable or rise slightly, while maximum temperatures are anticipated to decrease moderately in the inland areas. The Northeast wind will be moderate, becoming more intense on the southeast and northwest slopes and at higher elevations, where very strong gusts may be recorded.

Tenerife

Conditions will be overcast in the north, with possible light rain in the northeast, leading to a wide clear opening from midday. The remaining parts of the island will be partly cloudy or clear. Minimum temperatures will change little, while maximums will remain constantmoderate in the mountains. The Northeast wind will be moderate to strong, particularly on the southeast slope, at the western end, and in the central highlands, where very strong gusts are possible.

La Gomera

Conditions will be overcast in the north, with possible light rain during the morning, giving way to a wide clear opening from midday. The rest of the island is expected to be partly cloudy or clear. Temperatures will show little change. The Northeast wind will be strong, with very strong gusts expected in the eastern and western mountain ranges and slopes.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast (°C): San Sebastián de la Gomera 18 22

La Palma

Conditions will be overcast in the north and east, with possible light rain during the morning, transitioning to a wide clear opening from midday. The rest of the island will be partly cloudy or clear. Maximum temperatures are expected to decrease slightly, while minimum temperatures will remain stable, with potential light increases at higher elevations. Moderate Northeast winds will be more intense in the southeast and northwest regions, particularly in the mountains, where very strong gusts may occur.

Minimum and maximum temperatures forecast (°C): Santa Cruz de la Palma 15 19

El Hierro

Conditions will be overcast in the north, with possible light rain during the morning, followed by a wide clear opening from midday. The rest of the island will be partly cloudy or clear. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain stable, while minimum temperatures will show little or slight increases. A strong Northeast wind will bring very strong gusts in the mountains, southeast slope, and at the northwest end.
