Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Jan 28 (Europa Press) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, via the insular direction of strategic projects, has introduced “essential initiatives” for the island by implementing measures to streamline the administrative procedures associated with island interest projects.

This was clarified by the vice president of the island institution, Lope Afonso, who underscores the significance of “filling vacancies within the town hall as crucial to avoid jeopardising future budgets of the entity, allowing for effective planning of infrastructure that enables us to tackle various challenges faced by the island, such as demographic, tourist or the enhancement of socio-health services, primary or industrial sector, among others.”

The vice president further adds in a statement that “the potential for public land use from the Cabildo for the development and acceleration of strategic initiatives on the island will encourage projects that are administratively complex by applying principles of simplification, efficiency, and legal assurance.”

The Insular Directorate of Strategic Projects, with Alicia Leirachá at the helm, has been working since its inception in identifying and promoting initiatives deemed strategic at the insular level, both public and private, that contribute to the sustainable economic, social, health, and territorial development of the island.

Leirachá states that “the opportunity lies in the now available possibility of utilising public land for the endowment and implementation of strategic infrastructure for Tenerife’s future, including socio-health, industrial, sports, or even educational facilities.”

Lope Afonso emphasises this point, noting that “as part of governmental commitments, solutions have always been sought to ensure that future actions or initiatives of the institution do not hinder or restrain progress.”

As Alicia Leirachá confirms, “projects of insular interest, strategic territorial actions capable of reconfiguring the land on which these public and private initiatives are aimed, enable us to give stronger impetus to government actions such as the development of the future film city, a new shelter house or new socio-health centres or sports facilities that accommodate economic sectors and enhance basic infrastructure considered essential on the island through public support.”
