The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has taken a significant step in the restoration and rejuvenation strategy for the Viera y Clavijo Cultural Park, which has been designated a Historical-Artistic Monument of interest to the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and is currently undergoing renovations.
Through the Autonomous Organisation of Culture (OAC), a proposal was submitted and approved to conduct a sector consultation to explore potential cultural projects that can effectively utilise the spaces within the complex, aiming to establish it as a cultural landmark in the city.
This consultation aims to identify feasible and sustainable initiatives from professionals and cultural organisations that will enable the full potential of the Viera y Clavijo Cultural Park to be realised. The process is designed to gather self-financing projects that incorporate a range of high-quality cultural activities. Objectives include integrating the park into the cultural landscape of Santa Cruz as a key venue, developing an inclusive and diverse programme featuring exhibitions, performing arts activities, training, and artistic residencies, as well as enhancing collaboration with both national and international institutions.
Individuals and organisations interested in presenting their proposals may do so electronically via the City Council’s online platform. The deadline for submissions will be two months following the announcement’s publication in the Official Gazette of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
This initiative underscores the significance of restoring and revitalising historical spaces for cultural purposes, fostering development and social unity through culture.
