Arona will once again participate in the International Tourism Fair, Fitur 2025, with the aim of reinforcing its status as a premier tourist destination. The extensive offerings available in the municipality cater to a variety of visitors, establishing it as an international benchmark for the quality of its accommodation and services.
Alongside Tenerife Tourism, Arona will showcase at this leading global fair both the tangible and intangible assets that position the municipality as a destination where visitors can find answers tailored to their expectations. This is clearly reflected in the high number of tourists who select Arona for their holiday each year.
On one hand, Arona takes pride in its robust public-private partnerships, as evidenced by the renovation of hotels and tourist facilities. Initiatives such as the modernisation of significant complexes and hotel chains like the Mare Nostrum Resort, Coral Hotels, and Spring Hotels exemplify the commitment to upgrade and enhance the quality of the region’s accommodations.
This commitment to modernisation is further highlighted by the recent renewal of Arona’s status as an Adhered Intelligent Tourist Destination (DTI), a distinction that underscores its commitment to comprehensive and adaptable tourism management based on the five pillars of the DTI model: governance, sustainability, technology, innovation, and accessibility.
A pioneer in accessible tourism since the 1960s, Arona has successfully adapted both public and private spaces and services to foster inclusive tourism comprehensively. As a member of the Segittur Network for Smart Tourist Destinations, Arona continues to evolve towards a model that integrates innovation, sustainability, and accessibility, ensuring that everyone can enjoy its beaches, services, and cultural offerings without exception.
Arona is also a prime destination for sports enthusiasts, offering a range of activities and world-class events, including the Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro, the Arona International Combined Tests Meeting, and the Arona La Escalona-Arona Climb—events that attract prominent international competitors and also feature events that highlight local athletes, such as the Las Galletas Half Marathon, the San Silvestre Golden Mile at Playa Las Américas, and the Blue Challenge Swimming Crossing.
What defines Arona is the blend of traditional elements with contemporary cultural and musical trends, creating a perfect environment for emotional experiences. Events like the Pilgrimage in Honour of San Antonio Abad, Arona in Traditions, and the Festivities in Honour of the Holy Christ of Health and Our Lady of the Rosary provide opportunities for neighbours and visitors to appreciate popular and historical expressions. Additionally, Arona boasts a diverse lineup of concerts and performances centred around the Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Los Cristianos, various Cultural and Civic Centres within the municipality, and public spaces.
The Los Cristianos International Carnival has already established itself as a hallmark in Southern Tenerife, being the second-largest carnival on the island and one of the most notable in Spain. This year, it is set to take place from March 20 to 31 in the popular tourist areas of the Arona Brand, such as Playa de Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Américas, revolving around the theme of Venezuela, famed as the eighth island due to its closeness to the Canary Islands. As a result, the Arona Carnival will be filled with vibrancy, colour, and festivity. The events programme will feature iconic activities such as the Announcement Parade of the Americas, Coso Apoteosis, various contests and festivals, galas, Carnival Day, and the Grand Coso Apoteosis of the Carnival among more than 25 planned events.
