Four Arrested in Arona for Trafficking Counterfeit Goods Worth 1.8 Million

Officers from the National Police have apprehended four individuals in Arona, located in the southern part of Tenerife, relating to an alleged offence against industrial property.

As part of the operation, roughly 200 high-end watches, around 900 leather items, including bags and belts, 21,500 toys and figurines, 1,300 keyrings, 259,000 playing cards, and 2,886 packs of disputed brands— all apparently counterfeit—have been confiscated, totalling over 1,850,000 euros in market value.

The inquiry was initiated following a report from several representatives of various luxury brands, leather goods manufacturers, and toy companies, who alerted authorities regarding the potential sale of counterfeit goods in different shops throughout southern Tenerife, as stated by the National Police.

Officers specialised in this type of crime commenced the necessary investigations, which led to the identification of four stores where the counterfeit products were being sold. In one of these locations, the agents uncovered a point of sale for the creation and assembly of counterfeit luxury watches, which was subsequently dismantled.
