SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 18th January (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 53-year-old woman was airlifted this Saturday by a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group of the Canary Islands (GES) following a fall on the Baracán trail, situated in Teno Alto, within the municipality of Buenavista del Norte (Tenerife), as reported by The Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operational room received a call indicating that a hiker required medical assistance after sustaining an injury on a trail in the specified region, prompting Cecoes to swiftly activate the emergency resources needed to respond to the situation.
Owing to the challenging access to the site of the accident, a GES helicopter was deployed. Once it landed, its crew reached the individual affected, administering initial treatment before transferring her to the La Guancha helipad.
Upon arrival, members of the SUC provided further assistance and transported the patient, who had sustained moderate injuries to her lower limbs, to Hospital del Norte by ambulance.
