The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, via the Autonomous Organisation of Festivals and Recreational Activities (OAFAR), has commenced registration for the auction of positions during the Carnival 2025, set to take place on January 28 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cajasiete assembly hall in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
For this year, out of the 85 locations designated, 54 will be available for initial auction, while the remaining 31 are reserved by OAFAR for regular sponsor operations. As is tradition, if any of these reservations remain unsold on the bidding day, they will be included in the auction along with the original lot.
The auction targets the management of positions such as inns, food trucks, stands selling hot dogs, nougat and confectionery, churrerías, or stalls offering Carnival merchandise, eligible for both individuals and legal entities.
The starting prices for Carnival 2025 commence at just over 17,000 euros for the inn situated in Plaza de España, measuring 12×4 metres; while a stall of 4×2 metres selling Carnival items, located in Plaza del Chicharro, starts at around 600 euros. The allocation of these spaces will occur through a public bidding auction. This process will be conducted audibly, in a single session and through a call.
Individuals interested in participating must complete their application by January 24, 2025. This involves filling out the registration form, providing a power of attorney if acting on behalf of another, and registering under the relevant heading of the Economic Activities Tax (IAE).
