SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE Jan. 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands, via the General Directorate of Native Sports, has launched ‘Terrero&Gloria Play’, a digital platform that allows enthusiasts of traditional sports to participate in a virtual league by creating and managing their own teams.
This initiative has been developed in collaboration with the Canarian Wrestling Federation and the company Soluciones Creativas El Plan SL, as stated by the Government of the Canary Islands in a press release.
Accessible on both iOS and Android devices, the app offers a gaming experience that mirrors the dynamics of virtual competition found in prominent sporting events like the League, the ACB, or the NBA.
Participants will have a fictional budget to build their teams, consisting of four male and female fighters, thereby promoting an “inclusive character”, according to the Government.
Over the course of the season, teams will accrue points based on their members’ performances each week, with the opportunity to compete for appealing prizes.
A VIRTUAL COMPETITION
The application features an interface and functionality similar to other apps of this nature, encompassing over two hundred profiles of fighters from the 36 teams within the First Regional Category.
Users will need a budget to assemble their team, which they must manage weekly, while also tracking their members’ performances and making strategic adjustments to maximise their score.
Each fighter will be valued according to their category or ranking within the team, presenting participants with the challenge of optimising their investment to ensure the highest competitiveness with the given budget.
Alongside adhering to the fundamental rules of the sport, the game will include additional restrictions to enhance competition. Users will not be permitted to select two members from the same club for their virtual teams and must ensure gender parity within their chosen squads.
‘Terrero&Gloria Play’ will reward its users with incentives such as monthly draws and a grand final prize for the highest-ranking player, which includes an all-expenses-paid trip to witness the grand final of the Liga DISA Gobierno de Canarias at the season’s conclusion.
The tool will feature sections dedicated to news, statistics, and instructional tutorials on the fundamental regulations of Canarian wrestling, with content that will be regularly updated based on information sourced from regional competitions, making the application an invaluable resource for consultation and education.
