The La Laguna City Council through its Works Department, has commenced the installation of vertical signage around José Clavijo and Fajardo streets, Plaza del Adelantado and Camino San Roque to inform residents of the disruptions to traffic anticipated in the coming days due to the imminent launch of the channeling projects in the La Carnicería ravine.

From next Monday, January 20, starting at 7:00 a.m., access to José Clavijo and Fajardo Street will be available via Camino San Roque, permitting entry exclusively for garage owners of properties in the vicinity as well as for the various services required by La Laguna Gran Hotel. Councilor for Works, Ángel Chinea, specifies that “a loading and unloading zone will be established on the street connecting Camino San Roque with Plaza del Adelantado from this Friday, aiming to minimise the impact on the hotel.”

Consequently, access to the car park situated at the rear of Plaza del Adelantado will be limited, preventing its usage by the public from next Monday, “as this space is required for the heavy machinery essential for the works, as well as for the removal of soil to construct the new channeling,” the councillor notes.

The alternate area along José Clavijo and Fajardo streets, near the entrance of the Palace of Justice building, will see circulation restricted, aside from users of the court. “The direction of traffic will remain unchanged to facilitate entry and exit from the Palace of Justice,” explains the Works councilor, who also urges citizens to cooperate fully while lamenting the inconveniences faced by both local residents and users of the hotel and car park.

In light of this, the City Council is completing the setup of an alternative car park on Seña Nicasia Street, close to Camino La Rúa, to accommodate the numerous spaces that will be unavailable during the anticipated 21-month duration of the works. Furthermore, the City Council highlights that the Las Quinteras car park, managed by the municipal company Muvisa, is also accessible, featuring 318 spaces, including 10 designated for individuals with reduced mobility, 12 for motorcycles, and available at reduced prices.
