An 80-year-old gentleman passed away on Monday following his rescue from the water, where he was found in cardiorespiratory arrest at El Beril beach, located in the Tenerife municipality of Adeje, as confirmed by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands.
At 5:06 p.m., emergency services received a report indicating that lifeguards had rescued a swimmer suffering from cardiorespiratory arrest and were undertaking resuscitation efforts. In response, 112 promptly deployed the required emergency resources.
A doctor from Primary Care arrived at the incident site, travelling in the ambulance that had been dispatched, and continued to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation alongside members of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC). Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was declared deceased.
The police worked in conjunction with the emergency teams, and the National Police initiated an investigation. The Adeje Local Police also provided assistance.
