Two motorcyclists sustained serious injuries in a head-on crash at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Sunday on the TF-21 road, close to Portillo and within the boundaries of La Orotava (Tenerife).
According to the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 112, an individual present at the incident, who identified himself as a nurse, confirmed that one of the men was in cardiorespiratory arrest and promptly began administering lifesaving measures through basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Concurrently, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) proceeded with the treatment of the motorcyclists upon their arrival, both of whom exhibited severe multiple traumas. One was transported to the Canary Islands University Hospital, while the other was taken to the Ntra. Sra. de Candelaria University Hospital, where they were admitted in a critical state.
Ultimately, personnel from CECOPIN, National Parks, and the Red Cross ERIE team lent assistance with the deployed resources, whilst the Civil Guard oversaw the necessary procedures and directed traffic in the vicinity.
