A motorcyclist tragically lost his life while three others sustained serious injuries in three separate incidents on Sunday on the islands of Fuerteventura and Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands. The incidentsoccurred within a mere three-hour window, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. One victim fell from his motorcycle into a ravine in Pájara, another had an accident on a road in Tuineje, and two more collided head-on while travelling through the Teide National Park.
The first incident happened shortly after 11:00 in the morning on the TF-21 highway, near Portillo, within the Tenerife municipality of La Orotava. Two motorcycles collided at high speed in the Teide National Park and the riders were left with severe injuries. At the scene, which was quite busy as it was a weekend, a woman identifying herself as a nurse recognised that one of the injured had gone into cardiac arrest and promptly commenced basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques. Subsequently, the staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) arrived and attended to the two injured individuals, who were stabilised and then transported to medical facilities: one was flown to the Canary Islands University Hospital by helicopter while the other was taken by ambulance to Ntra. Sra. de Candelaria University Hospital.

The firefighters from Tenerife were involved in the operation alongside personnel from Cecopien, National Parks, and the Red Cross ERIE team who aided the emergency resources. The Civil Guard undertook inquiries into the events.
The second incident occurred at 1:16 p.m. on the route leading to La Entallada Lighthouse, in the Majorero municipality of Tuineje. There, a motorcyclist fell and was rendered unconscious. Bystanders attempted to revive him, and the SUC staff continued these efforts upon their arrival, but tragically, they could only confirm the man’s death. Firefighters from the Fuerteventura Security and Emergency Service were involved in the operation as well; the Civil Guard managed the related proceedings.
The final accident transpired after 2:00 p.m. in the Las Hermosas area of Pájara, where the motorcyclist fell into a ravine, resulting in a head injury and multiple severe traumas. SUC medical personnel sent to the location assessed and treated the 25-year-old young man, and following his stabilisation, airlifted him in a medical helicopter to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria. The Local Police and the Civil Guard were also involved, conducting an official report.
