SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE Jan. 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
On Sunday morning, the Air Force executed an evacuation for an unwell passenger from the cruise ship ‘Aidamar’ while it was situated over 200 nautical miles – more than 370 kilometres – from the shores of Tenerife.
This was indicated by Salvamento Marítimo, which added that, upon the ship’s request for medical evacuation, the controllers at their Tenerife centre activated a helicopter from the Air Rescue Service (SAR) along with a support aircraft.
Consequently, once the helicopter reached the location, its crew successfully rescued the ill woman and transported her to Tenerife South Airport, where a medical ambulance was on standby to convey her to a hospital on the island.
