The Acentejo Region experienced a complete power failure yesterday due to a disruption in the electricity supply that impacted the towns of El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria, and parts of Santa Úrsula, specifically La Tosca de Ana María, La Tosca Barrios, La Vera, Farrobillo, and El Chapatal. This incident affected approximately 12,000 customers, as reported by sources from Endesa.

The blackout commenced at around 7:42 p.m. following a malfunction at a medium voltage support point in Santa Úrsula, which had been damaged in the recent storm and was undergoing maintenance.

Multiple teams from the company were dispatched to the location immediately to attempt to restore power, which is expected to be back by 00:30 hours.

The outage took residents by surprise. In fact, the absence of electricity led to the cancellation of sports events and all activities at the municipal facilities in the affected areas.
