Zapata Advocates for Hydropumping Plant Development in Güímar
Mariano Hernández Zapata, the Minister of Ecological Transition and Energy for the Canary Islands Government, has announced his plans to establish a hydropumping plant in the region of the Güímar sand pits, located in Tenerife, where aggregates were unlawfully extracted for nearly two decades. The prominent figure stated to the press that it would be “excellent news” for such a facility to be situated in that location, although he also emphasised that “significant steps still need to be undertaken” to bring this project to fruition.
