The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, engaged in a demanding workday yesterday in Madrid, resulting in discussions with executives from two of the world’s leading technological enterprises, the South Korean Samsung and the Chinese Huawei, to attract investments to the island. Dávila thereby strengthens the strategy to diversify the economy and establish it as a centre of innovation. The vice president of Huawei Spain, Carmen González, regards the insular Corporation as “a key strategic partner” for the Huawei Academy, an educational establishment that will provide over 3,000 courses to around 50,000 individuals, aimed at cultivating talent in the latest advanced technologies.
