Civil Guard officers, as part of operation Gallotia, have apprehended six individuals accused of various crimes related to theft with force involving a vehicle valued at a total of 5,000 euros. This occurred in the parking areas near the Los Abrigos natural pools, located within the municipality of Granadilla de Abona.
The modus operandi employed by the suspects was consistently identical; after shattering the window frames of the vehicles, they gained access to the interior to purloin small valuable items, including mobile phones, tablets, cash, along with bags containing the belongings of the victims, who were predominantly tourists, as stated by the Civil Guard in a report.
Subsequently, they transported all stolen items to a rental vehicle, in which at least two individuals were present. While one carried out the theft, the other remained vigilant in the vehicle, monitoring the surroundings.
Through this investigation, which included various investigative efforts conducted by the Civil Guard agents, along with multiple clarification operations, monitoring, and surveillance activities, they successfully gathered the required evidence and information to elucidate the modus operandi and ultimately identify, locate, and apprehend the six suspects in connection with at least 12 similar thefts that have since been resolved.
The apprehended individuals, alongside the compiled evidence, have been presented before the relevant Court of Investigation.
