A task deserving of the finest forensic CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) at a crime site – much like those depicted in popular television shows – but in this instance, aimed at identifying the properties impacted by the devastating forest fire during the summer of 2023 in Tenerife and determining their ownership. This is the aim of the agreement established between the Island Council and the Tax Consortium, one of its affiliated organisations, for an amount of 136,000 euros to revise the records of these plots and initiate the process to rehabilitate the agricultural systems that were harmed by the blaze. The necessary resources will be supplied by the General Directorate of the Cadastre, a national entity responsible for these matters, which has also coordinated with the insular Consortium.
