The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, via the department of Strategic Planning, Environmental Sustainability, and Public Services, has announced that the timetable for the Rastro during the Twelfth Night will commence at 08:30 on January 5 and conclude at 04:00 on January 6, 2025 in the customary and traditional celebration area.
The Mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, emphasises that “by extending the hours of the Rastro on Twelfth Night, we aim to preserve a tradition that is integral to our identity as a city and to support the families that rely on this commercial endeavour. This City Council is committed to ensuring that the Rastro remains a space for the economic and social advancement of Santa Cruz.”
Additionally, the Councillor for Public Services, Carlos Tarife, states that “it is vital to assist those families for whom the Rastro is their sole source of income” and reiterates that “this extension of hours presents an opportunity to enhance this commercial activity and sustain this tradition during the enchanting Twelfth Night.”
The setup of the stalls should take place between 07:30 and 08:30, with sales activities scheduled to commence at 08:30.
