The administration of Puerto de la Cruz, comprising PP, ACP and CC, criticises the former mayor, the socialist Marco González, for “failing to take any action” to address the issue of sewage discharges at Playa Jardín. During an extraordinary plenary meeting of the Portuense City Council held yesterday, dedicated solely to the closure of the three coves in the area due to contamination, which coincided with the six-month anniversary of this measure, the municipal government did not offer any timeline for the reopening of Puerto de la Cruz’s primary bathing area. Instead, it emphasised the previous councillor’s shortcomings in managing the sewage network.
