Frustration in the Skies: A Travel Nightmare After Tenerife South’s Closure
For several hours, the primary airports in the Canary Islands were caught in a flurry of redirected flights and delayed departures. A private aircraft remained on the runway at Tenerife South Airport, resulting in the closure of the runway and the diversion of as many as 22 flights to both Tenerife North Airport and Gran Canaria Airport.
