Condé Nast Johansens, known for its esteemed collection of luxury hotels and exclusive experiences, has revealed the launch of the 2025 edition of its global Luxury Spas guide, focusing on establishments with spa that are distinguished for their excellence across Europe, the Mediterranean, America, and Asia.

This edition features a total of 30 luxury hotels with spa targeting both the traditional traveller, who has remained loyal to the brand for many years, and the younger traveller aged between 25 and 40 with significant purchasing power.

The countries included in this edition encompass Germany, Austria, Brazil, Scotland, Spain, the Philippines, France, Indonesia, England, Italy, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Romania, and Thailand, among others.

Among the Spanish locations highlighted in this exclusive guide are hotels that epitomise the finest in wellness and luxury offerings, including two located in Tenerife: Bahía del Duque and Hotel Botánico & The Oriental Spa Garden, as well as the Palasiet Thalasso Clinic & Hotel (Castellón, Valencian Community).

Spain boasts 16 hotel establishments recommended in the Condé Nast Johansens guide: Luxury Hotels 2025, three hotels in the Condé Nast Johansens Luxury Spas 2025 guide, and a total of 18 available online.

The publication describes this establishment, situated in the southern part of the Island, as “an oasis of luxury and exclusivity in an unmatched setting.” “Wellness, gastronomy, and unique experiences” await guests at this exclusive hotel that Condé Nast Johansens characterises as a “paradise by the sea, featuring 19th-century Canarian-inspired architecture amidst lush tropical gardens.”

Charming courtyards leading to swimming pools, top-tier personalised service, and sophisticated interior design across various accommodations are additional benefits highlighted by the publication. It also mentions that the hotel offers rooms and suites within the colonial-style Casas Ducales estate, complete with a designated reception area, alongside a selection of private villas crafted from elegant volcanic stone within the exclusive Las Villas complex.

Situated just a 10-minute stroll from the serene Puerto de la Cruz, this establishment has recently undergone renovations that have revitalised the hotel, from its façade (now an elegant light grey and white) to new panoramic windows and a renovated reception area featuring an aquarium and a striking luminous installation made up of 1,800 “floating” crystals.

The surrounding subtropical gardens have also been enhanced with thoughtfully placed lighting and are accompanied by soothing bagpipe music. Additionally, the outdoor pool has been entirely refurbished, featuring a solarium area, new furniture, and showers with updated tiles. The hotel lake continues to thrive with koi carp, a testament to the volcanic drama that lies beyond the hotel’s borders.
