The Festival Department of La Laguna City Council has arranged a schedule of activities for the morning of December 31, allowing children to bid farewell to 2024 in a festive manner. This Children’s New Year’s Eve celebration will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Christmas Square, situated in the vicinity of El Cristo.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, emphasised that this marks the inaugural edition of the event, stating, “Our aim is to offer the younger ones a complimentary space for leisure, celebration, and play, featuring music, entertainment, and a variety of food trucks that have been set up in this part of the town since December 20.”
Lagunero Festival Councillor Dailos González noted that, “Upon the opening, there will be a prominent area filled with inflatable attractions, storytelling, and different live acts on the stage at Plaza del Cristo.” Additionally, the mayor reminded attendees that this central location already boasts a complimentary ice rink and vehicles related to major film productions.
Dailos González further mentioned that this year-end festivity, entitled Fiestukids, will provide attendees with party favours and a mock countdown to the New Year, complete with special bells for the little ones and traditional grapes and sweets. Performances will include Cantacuentos Güicho Estévez, Mario Falero, and Zumbakids, among other acts.
On December 31, the Plaza de la Navidad will also host the city’s traditional New Year’s Eve gathering, featuring concerts from 10:30 p.m. until dawn, led by various bands and artists representing different musical genres.
