Opening of the Palliative Care Unit at Hospital del Sur

Hospital del Sur has commenced the provision of palliative care services. The new department includes an outpatient consultation area as well as an admission area, equipped with all essential facilities for the reception of patients who require assistance. Since October, the centre’s professionals have undergone specialised training to support both patients and their families in these challenging situations. At present, the Palliative Care Unit at Hospital del Sur comprises two palliative care doctors who are part of the staff from the central unit situated in Ofra Hospital, from which they attend to patients across the entire Island.
