The La Laguna City Council, via the Festival Department, has organised numerous outdoor festivities to bid farewell to 2024 and embrace the new year across various locations in the municipality, including Tejina, Valle de Guerra, La Cuesta, and the central area, particularly at the Plaza de La Navidad in El Cristo.

The mayor of the municipality, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, emphasised that “this time of year is ideal for all citizens of La Laguna to come together in our public spaces and enjoy moments of festivity with their friends and family, accompanied by the midnight bells and the various performers set to enliven this extraordinary evening.”

Additionally, Dailos González, the Councilor for Festivals, declared that “residents and visitors wishing to ring in the new year from the city can do so at the newly opened Plaza de La Navidad, situated in the El Cristo area. On the morning of the 31st, activities for children will be provided, followed by a line-up of musical performances starting at 10:30 p.m., featuring artists and groups such as the Kadetes orchestra, Combo Dominicano, David Pérez, the Revelación orchestra, and the Nueva Latina musical duo.”

“Since its inauguration last Friday, this plaza has already attracted many visitors, thanks to the wide array of gastronomic and recreational options available for both adults and children, notably an ice rink and several food trucks,” the councillor added.

Dailos González also pointed out that, in Tejina Square, the musical entertainment for the New Year’s Eve celebrations will be provided by the Dorada Band and Grupo La Kalle. This group will also perform at Plaza de Valle de Guerra, sharing the stage with the Generación orchestra. Both venues will feature live DJ sessions as an enhancement to this cultural and leisure programme.

Lastly, the Plaza de El Tranvía will serve as the gathering place for residents of La Cuesta and other areas of the municipality and the island who wish to enjoy live performances from the Columbia orchestra, hailing from Barranco Hondo, and the Relieve musical group.
