Teide Access Reopened via La Esperanza After Ice Removal by Cabildo

On Thursday, the Cabildo of Tenerife reopened the TF-24 (La Esperanza) route to the Teide National Park after successfully undertaking the work to eliminate the ice patches.

The Insular Corporation announced that all access routes to Teide are now operational: the TF-21 La Orotava-Vilaflor, the TF-38 Chío, and the TF-24 La Esperanza.

As stated in a release, the teams from the Highways section of the insular Corporation have been working in recent days to clear snow and ice, as well as removing various rocks caused by landslides to ensure the roads’ safety.

The president of the Tenerife Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, urges caution for those travelling on these routes and requests compliance with the signs and guidance provided by the authorities.

“Our main concern is safety; that is why we closed the roads, and now that they are open, we ask for caution while using them,” emphasised Dávila.

The island president expressed her gratitude for the efforts made recently by the Highway crews, Environmental agents, and personnel from the Security and Emergency department of the Cabildo, along with the Local Police of La Orotava, the rescue teams from the Red Cross, and the Civil Guard.
