SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 26 December (EUROPA PRESS) –
This Thursday, the Cabildo of Tenerife has reopened the TF-24 (La Esperanza) route leading to Teide National Park following the completion of work to clear the ice sheets.
Consequently, all access routes to Teide are now open, specifically TF-21 La Orotava-Vilaflor, TF-38 Chío, and TF-24 La Esperanza, as stated by the Island Corporation.
Road maintenance teams have worked diligently in recent days to eliminate snow and ice, and they have also removed several rocks from landslides to ensure the safety of the roads.
In this context, the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, stated, “All access routes to Teide are now open. We urge travellers to remain cautious when using these roads and to adhere to the signs and instructions provided by the authorities. Our main concern is safety, which is why we initially closed these routes, and now that they are accessible, we advise caution while travelling on them.”
She also expressed gratitude for the efforts made by the highway crews, environmental agents, and the staff from the Security and Emergency area of the Cabildo and Teide National Park, as well as the Local Police of La Orotava, the rescue teams of Cruz Roja, and the Civil Guard.
