The Commerce Department of the La Laguna City Council, overseen by Estefanía Díaz, has established complimentary gift wrapping stations in the outdoor shopping zones across various districts. This initiative aims to enhance the shopping experience for families and promote the selection of local businesses during this peak consumption period. The venture is supported by La Laguna Open Commercial Zone (LLZC) and the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (FAUCA).
The wrapping services have been available since December 22 and will continue until today, Tuesday, December 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The designated locations include the Plazas del Ramal in Tejina, del Tranvía in La Cuesta, José Hernández Arocha in Taco, and the Plaza de la Catedral within the historical area of La Laguna. Furthermore, the service will recommence on January 3, 4, and 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the mentioned sites, aligning with the concluding phase of the Christmas season and the Three Kings shopping period.
The Councillor for Commerce, Estefanía Díaz, underscored the aim of ensuring that Christmas shopping becomes a delightful experience for families, set within a welcoming, appealing, and secure environment where the enchantment of Christmas can be experienced.
Iván Pérez, president of La Laguna Commercial Zone (LLZC), echoed similar sentiments, emphasising that “this type of initiative enhances the allure of our outdoor shopping areas by providing additional services that motivate citizens to opt for local commerce for their purchases.”
Abbas Moujir, president of FAUCA, also appreciated this initiative “which merges convenience for consumers with commercial promotion at a crucial time for our small and medium-sized enterprises, which require our utmost support.” Moujir highlighted the significance of sustaining this collaborative approach between various organisations, describing it as “a collective commitment to commerce and citizens that is vital for the sustenance and progression of the sector.”
