The Santa Cruz City Council, in conjunction with the Salud – La Salle district and the Tenerife Central Basketball Club, is hosting a complimentary Christmas camp on December 26, 27, 28, and 30. This event, taking place in the sports pavilion located in the La Salud neighbourhood, is targeted at children aged 5 to 15 years and is free of charge. The Mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, applauds this initiative, stating that it not only promotes sports among youths but also offers families engaging activities during the school holiday period. “I express my gratitude to CB Tenerife Central for launching this project in collaboration with us, enabling our children to experience sports in an enjoyable setting alongside professionals, whilst also assisting parents in balancing their work commitments with the Christmas break of their children.”
Zaida González, the council member for the Salud – La Salle district, emphasised that “our district office is dedicated to fostering activities for all demographics, and in addition to the Christmas programmes currently being implemented, we are proud to support this initiative that allows the younger population to celebrate Christmas in a unique manner.”
Alicia Cebrián, the Councilor for Sports, underscored the significance of such activities, asserting, “you can always rely on our council for this type of initiative, which complements a vital programme of sports activities during this festive season.”
The camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with inclusivity for an extra half an hour before and after each day’s commencement and conclusion. Registration also covers a mid-morning snack, a campus t-shirt, and a certificate of attendance.
