The Cabildo of Tenerife has reopened access routes to the Teide National Park on Monday, the 23rd, following closures caused by ice and snow on the roads.
As reported by the island’s Government, teams from the corporation’s Highways department have been working “diligently” throughout the weekend to clear the accumulated snow and ice.
The heavy snowfall and patches of ice led to the closure of the TF-21 motorway, connecting La Orotava with Teide National Park, as well as the TF-24 (La Esperanza) and the TF-38 (access from Chío).
Furthermore, the Road teams have been engaged in removing various boulders resulting from landslides to ensure road safety.
Nevertheless, the Cabildo of Tenerife advises the public to exercise caution while driving on these roads and to adhere to road signs as well as directives from official sources.
