The OlimPIT commenced its operations yesterday, running until January 5, at the Tenerife Fairgrounds. The Tenerife Children’s Park (PIT), now in its 33rd edition, pays homage to the Olympic year while promoting sport as a means to instil positive values. The opening was officiated by the island president, Rosa Dávila (CC), the vice president, Lope Afonso (PP), and the vice president of the Fairgrounds, Manuel Fernández, alongside other dignitaries.
They explored the expansive area of over 18,000 square metres, which houses 35 play zones featuring a variety of recreational, physical, and educational activities suitable for all age groups. Highlights include an ice skating rink (spanning 600 square metres), a sports area, fairground attractions, musical and theatrical performances (with 65 live shows), environmental workshops, face painting, balloon twisting, and crafting activities, among others.
From December 21 to 30, the opening hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. On December 24 and 31, it will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., as well as on January 1. On December 25, hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and from January 2 to 4, it will open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Finally, on January 5, opening hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The price for general admission is 10 euros, although for large families, the fee is reduced to 5 euros.
