Stuffed avocados are among the festive treats enjoyed in households across the Islands during Christmas. In Tenerife, the price of this green fruit cocktail is set to rise significantly over the holiday period, as costs have already surged within a matter of days following the alarming reports detailing the extensive damage inflicted by Storm Dorothea. Other crops that suffered considerable damage included potatoes, particularly the black variety – one of the ancient and distinctive types native to this region – as well as bananas and various greenhouse produce.
