The Hermano Ramón square in La Laguna will transform into a distinctive Christmas haven from tomorrow, Thursday, December 19, until Sunday, December 22, with the launch of ‘The Christmas Recovita’. The doors to this charming and inviting space, a favourite during the festive season, will open at 10:00 in the morning, offering a delightful selection of handcrafted products and items that celebrate Christmas.
The fair will be accessible to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. over the four days of the exhibition. Its position in Plaza Hermano Ramón, in the historic centre, ensures it is an essential stop on the city’s Christmas trail, remarked La Laguna City Council’s Commercial Councillor, Estefanía Díaz, whose department has been involved in arranging this new edition.
“This is an event with a unique character that enhances the rich cultural, gastronomic, commercial, and festive offerings of La Laguna, while also contributing to the light displays that adorn our streets and squares,” stated Díaz, recalling the unique essence and authenticity present when ‘La Recovita de Navidad’ first opened, “with a distinctly festive and local emphasis, leveraging this celebratory atmosphere to connect the public with a plethora of options to enjoy that this city presents.”
This venue is known for its local Christmas products and items, featuring decorations and treats. “It creates a warm atmosphere with musical performances to uplift the festive spirit in the square,” noted local entrepreneur Fulgencio Espinosa, the event’s promoter since 2018.
Espinosa explained that “our aim is to connect visitors with the historic centre, which draws more families each year eager to experience the essence of our traditions. La Laguna provides an unparalleled backdrop with its illuminated streets, iconic nativity scenes, and an ambience that encourages exploration and enjoyment. Our intention is for the fair to serve as a portal to all this, inspiring visitors to discover the city and embrace the Christmas spirit.”
“At ‘La Recovita’, guests will find a complementary offering to the lagoon’s trade, enhancing rather than competing with it, further establishing another point of consumer interest during one of the year’s key shopping seasons. It is an experience that blends local production, tradition, and entertainment,” he added.
