Civil Guard officers from the Candelaria Investigation Area (Tenerife) have apprehended an individual suspected of carrying out eight incidents of robbery and vehicle theft, three of which were attempted, as well as another for the unlawful occupation of a residence, reportedly engaging in the theft of parked motorcycles to damage them and subsequently discard them.
The Benemérita has clarified that the offences were executed using the same modus operandi and within similar timeframes: the accused stole the motorcycles and then left them in various locations, resulting in substantial damage that incited social concern within the municipality.
Subsequently, the officers established multiple surveillance operations and undertook various actions that enabled them to identify, locate, and apprehend the alleged perpetrator of the crimes while also gathering the necessary evidence to elucidate the cases.
Additionally, this individual could also be recognised as the alleged offender responsible for the unlawful occupation of a property in the town of Candelaria, which served as the base for the various criminal activities.
It has come to light that this man had been detained the previous month for committing a burglary with force within a dwelling and for theft from a vehicle, also in the municipality of Candelaria.
Ultimately, the detainee, alongside the proceedings that were carried out, has been handed over to the Güímar Guard Court of Investigation.
