SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 12 December (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, has expressed optimism that the preliminary agreement reported by the newspapers ‘El Día’ and ‘Diario de Avisos’ regarding the sale of CD Tenerife shares will be finalised, reiterating that the institution will not partake in the process.
“We are certainly not going to involve ourselves in this, however, we must mention that the club requires a renewed sense of hope in order to regain institutional stability and normality within the sporting realm,” she stated to the press.
Dávila emphasised that this transaction is exclusively “between private parties” – Tenerife investor Rayco García and the principal shareholder, José Miguel Garrido – and she hopes that “everything proceeds smoothly” for the remaining shareholders to consent to the transfer of shares.
“Currently, there exists an opportunity. Our desire is that nothing jeopardises that chance. It appears that the steps we had requested are being adopted so that Mr. Garrido, who presently holds the majority of shares, can exit the club, allowing it to come under the management of individuals who cherish this island, which is their beloved home,” she said.
