The Justifications
Situated beneath the watchful gaze of the magnificent Teide, Icod de los Vinos is a charming municipality in the northern part of Tenerife that beckons exploration on foot. Strolling through its streets and plazas offers the best opportunity to enjoy unique experiences and fully immerse oneself in its essence. This enchanting section of the island delights with its gardens, historically rich buildings, and a deep religious heritage that, over centuries, has mirrored the art, beliefs, and customs of its inhabitants.
Known as The City of the Dragon Tree, Icod de los Vinos is home to the iconic Millenary Drago, a prominent symbol of Tenerife and one of the island’s major natural attractions.

Moreover, this municipality is distinguished by its diverse landscapes. Along its coast lies San Marcos Beach, which provides a flawless seaside sanctuary, whilst the Cueva del Viento, a remarkable volcanic tube, invites exploration of the earth’s depths.
However, Icod de los Vinos would not be what it is today without its profound connection to wine culture. Its name, introduced by European settlers in the 16th century, stands as a testament to the time-honoured winemaking tradition of the area, which continues to be a defining element of its identity.
