SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11 December (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Tenerife Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, has once more relinquished her responsibility this Wednesday with regard to resolving the ongoing strike of the tram workers, which has now continued for over ten months.
“The Cabildo does not engage in negotiations; Metropolitano is the entity that negotiates, thus it falls to the directors of Metropolitano, along with the councillor –Eulalia García–, who is the individual meeting with the company committee, to progress towards agreements that will help us achieve a resolution, as we all desire,” she informed journalists during the press conference outlining the decisions of the Government Council.
The company declared on Wednesday that this upcoming weekend, special Christmas services will commence throughout December, increasing the frequency of Line 1 every Saturday and Sunday of the month, as well as the first Saturday in January.
Accordingly, Line 1 trams will operate during peak hours with intervals of 8 and 10 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays, respectively.
In their statement, they detail that this Saturday, as well as on the 21st and 28th of December and the 4th of January, Line 1 will provide tram frequency at each stop every 8 minutes from 12:00 to 20:00, while Line 2 will operate with frequencies of 16 minutes.
For Sundays, the 15th, 22nd, and 29th, the intervals will be 10 minutes on Line 1 and 15 minutes on Line 2 during peak occupancy hours between 12:00 and 20:00.
In addition to these enhancements, the trams will continue to function on both lines according to the regular weekend timetables and frequencies.
