SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE December 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Vocational Training and Special Regime Education, will enhance entrepreneurship within the education sector via a pilot scheme that will enable students to manage cafeterias as business incubators in educational establishments across the islands.
This initiative, details of which have been published in a resolution this Tuesday, is set to commence this year and will run until 2026/2027, allowing students from Vocational Training centres that provide training cycles related to Hospitality and Tourism or Food Industries to partake in this venture.
Additionally, students studying Cooking and Gastronomy, Restaurant Services or Baking and Pastry will have the opportunity to develop entrepreneurial projects associated with the management of these facilities, as reported by the Ministry in a statement.
Moreover, the programme establishes a support framework for the centres chosen as business incubators, guaranteeing that the projects receive adequate assistance during their initiation and growth.
The formation of committees tasked with assessing proposals and overseeing their execution has also been planned.
In a subsequent phase, the Ministry will invite the submission of specific projects for the operation of school cafeterias, thereby reinforcing the business incubator model and broadening the scope of Vocational Training in the Canary Islands.
