Rescue Device Deployed for Fisherman Overboard in Tenerife

The Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands announced on Tuesday the activation of an emergency plan to assist a fisherman who fell into the ocean off the coast of Tenerife.

The incident occurred specifically along the coast of Las Eras, located in the municipality of Fasnia, in the eastern region of the island. This area features a rugged and steep coastline, while the entire Canary Islands are currently under pre-alert for high waves, with forecasts indicating swells and waves exceeding two metres.

As per CECOES, teams from Maritime Rescue, Tenerife Firefighters, the Civil Guard, Fasnia Local Police, and personnel from the municipal Beach Rescue Service were dispatched to the location to provide assistance.
