Tenerife Tourism is advancing its Circular Economy Island Plan to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of businesses. The initiative aims to create a roadmap for the upcoming three years, informed by the current state of the sector and the Canary Islands’ Circular Economy Strategy.
This project, which has just concluded its initial phase (out of five), is founded on an assessment of the circular economy within the island’s tourism sector and its implementation by local stakeholders. The advancements were presented this week in a session between the Tourism and Natural Environment departments of the Cabildo, attended by over 30 enterprises.
Additionally, this plan features a strategy that involves providing guidance to companies and training concerning the circular economy.
