The renowned privateer Amaro Pargo makes a comeback to the streets of La Laguna through a variety of performances and happenings from today until January 4, aimed at revitalising the municipality’s open commercial zones as part of the ongoing Christmas initiative. The first event kicks off today at 6:00 p.m. in the Plaza del Ramal de Tejina.
The actor Alfredo López will once again embody the illustrious historical figure of Amaro Pargo, sharing tales of his life and adventures with the crowd. He will also encourage patronage of local establishments, including shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes, inviting the audience to savour the cuisine and regional products at each venue where the performances occur.
“We at the council continue to endorse initiatives that fuse culture, history, and entertainment to enhance sales and stimulate local consumption,” noted the Councilor for Commerce, Estefanía Díaz. “Amaro Pargo, deeply connected to the history of La Laguna, serves as an excellent medium to convey this message and encourage attendees to relish this exceptional experience while we promote local commerce,” Díaz added.
These performances will also reach Valle de Guerra plaza on Saturday, December 14, and will take place near the Bajamar pools on December 21. Both events are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. The series of activities in the Northeast Region will conclude on January 4 at 11:00 a.m. on Marítima Avenue in Punta del Hidalgo and its surrounding areas.
