This Sunday, La Laguna will be hosting Neighbourhood Day, which this year marks its twenty-eighth edition, solidifying its role as a day of togetherness for families in the municipality. Plaza del Cristo will provide the backdrop for this initiative, organised by the FAV Aguere Federation of Neighbourhood Associations along with the Department of Citizen Participation, in collaboration with the Festivals, Local Development, and Youth departments of the City Council.
The festivities will commence at 10:00 am and will feature performances from Virginia Guantanamera, Pepe Benavente, Luis de Seda, and Ni un Pelo de Tonto, in addition to traditional Canarian celebrations and the Los Joroperos troupe. From 2:00 p.m., a large paella will be served, catering to approximately 1,500 attendees.
The Councillor for Citizen Participation, Fran Hernández, remarked yesterday that “this is a unique occasion to celebrate and acknowledge our neighbours, whose efforts and commitment enhance La Laguna.” He continued, “They are the eyes and voices of their communities, well aware of their needs, aiding us in implementing initiatives that improve their well-being.”
