The distinctive chorus of countless birds shatters the tranquility of an unusually warm and hazy November morning. As the southern wing of the Tenerife Fairgrounds draws near, the din amplifies and takes precedence over everything within the slightly more than 3,000 square metres that it occupies for a duration of four days, culminating on Sunday with the XXIX Tenerife Island Ornithological Exhibition Contest 2024. This year, it will also feature the Canary Islands Championship, orchestrated by the Island Council in partnership with the Pinzón del Teide Canary Farmers Association, which was established in the now distant year of 1986. Hundreds of the many enthusiasts from the Island gathered yesterday at the venue to celebrate this cherished cultural event dedicated to these exceptional birds.
